This past weekend, a group of independent artists and filmmakers gathered to shoot my first short film as writer/director, "Chasing Saudade".
"Chasing Saudade" follows a young woman named Selene, who having done everything the "right" way by societal standards, is now finding herself unfulfilled. She starts receiving mysterious texts and emails from an unnamed man, calling her to live life to the fullest. She is tempted by the dream of a life with him, but in the end finds that happiness comes only from within - not through another person or place.
We shot at 5 locations around the lower mainland between Friday and Sunday including: a farm in Maple Ridge, a yoga studio in North Vancouver, an apartment and rooftop in New Westminster, a skytrain station and a workspace in East Vancouver.
It was an exhausting and exhilarating few days. I am so grateful for our all-volunteer cast and crew who came together to bring my story to life.

The Background Talent
We have a few more days of shooting to do in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico. Then back to Vancouver to complete editing and post production.
THANK YOU to everyone involved in the making of this film. Can't wait to share it with you.
